About

Megan

I started my first blog when I was 14 in the year 2000. The platform was called Blurty, and you could follow other people's blogs (similar to how we follow people on social media now).

Very few people were on the internet at that time – so everyone I followed was a stranger.

Mainly: I sought out smart, sassy, funny women …one in particular whose username was something like “SerenaKay.”

She was in college in a big city and living the coolest life ever…taking classes I’d never heard of, making interesting observations…

Through her blog, I got to see a world I’d never have been exposed to otherwise.

And through her eyes: I got to see even ordinary things in a new and exciting light.

My small world in rural Louisiana became transformed.

For the very first time – I felt like I had options.

To not just get married, have babies, and get a desk job in the same city I grew up in…

But to explore the world.

Live in other places.

Meet different kinds of people.

LEARN new and exciting things from these new people and places….

I started to think bigger.

And in doing so, I started to explore my own voice – and think about what it is that I want to bring to the world.

Fast forward 20 years: and I still don’t have the answer to that big question.

But what I DO have is 20 years of adventures, friendships, tears, successes, failures, tropical sunsets, mountain climbs, river floats, and lots and lots of laughs along the way.

And what I’ve figured out so far is this:

1.

Working LESS is better than making MORE.

2.

Sometimes you have to fake it to make it. (more about that HERE)

3.

No one will remember what you wore or if you were at your “goal weight” at that party 5 years ago.

They’ll remember that you crossed the room to greet them when they anxiously walked in not knowing anyone. They’ll remember that you made them laugh. They’ll remember that you LISTENED to what they had to say.

4.

If you can’t find the “positive” or the “upside” in any given situation; at least try to find the humor in it.

I wanted to come up with a clever “theme” for the content that I’ll be creating for this newly updated version of my blog…but it’s going to be all over the place.

Because life is all over the place.

I do plan to share a lot of tips to streamline your life (so you can spend less time doing the shit that doesn’t matter and more time watching sunsets), and some fun adventures / memories / recommendations for kick-ass adventures.

As seen in….
